Hof is competence area for innovative logistic solutions

Hof's location, with regard to its important markets and as a sort of interface between the central Euopean market and eastern Europe, offers the basis.

The traffic infrastructure (the highways A 9, A 93 and A 72 and the regional airport) and the neighbourhood to the Czech Republic with important regional border crossing points are further conditions. Due to that geographic-logistic situation companies and their staff have been able to build up a wide east-west and logistics know-how over the years. The numerous existing powerful logistics companies and distribution centers initiate innovative logistic chains and networks. Furthermore, there are a lot of logistics experts.

Experience, gained over decades, goes along with the focussed extention of given logistic competence. Additionally, there are the advanced technical college with its courses of logistics studies, logistics congresses in form of meetings with experts in Hof and the east-west competence center in Marktredwitz. Very useful: the new container terminal is so successful due to this focus on competence and will be extended. Even today, Hof with its experts and companies is the very logistics location in northern Bavaria. At the same time, logistics is the key to future industrial production. Both fields find an ideal situation in Hof.

The Logistik Agentur Oberfranken e.V. is a mutual initiative between economy, science and authortities with the aim to develop the excellent logistics know-how and the unique situation of Hof and Upper Frankonia as an east-west and north-south turntable.
