Hof-Plauen Airport

The regional airport Hof-Plauen fulfils an important function for the north-eastern part of Upper Franconia as well as for neighbouring Saxony and Thuringia. Since the inner-German border ceased to exist, this airport has found itself right in the centre of Germany. It is easy to reach from motorway A9 and federal road B2. (city-map)

Due to the state-of-the-art equipment including a fully fledged instrument landing system, it is possible to land at Hof Airport even in bad weather.

On weekdays there are three flights daily to and from Frankfurt. Besides it is sometimes possible to fly to cities like Paris, Rome, Florence or London.

If flights to destinations that are not easily reached using the Hof-Frankfurt scheduled service are required, charter or taxi flights all over Europe can be arranged. The airport offers facilities for air cargo, catering, hangars, a travel agent’s, a flying school, a centre for the medical examination of pilots, car rental and aero club. Short-term and long-term hangar space for planes is available and there is ample car parking.

With the steady increase in the number of passengers and of flights since 1985, when the new runway was completed, construction work has repeatedly had to be done at the airport, e.g. the installation of the instrument landing system, the extension of the apron and of the terminal building, the erection of 2 hangars, a 240-metre extension to the runway, a new administration building and alterations to the tower.
