Tasks of the order service
Increasing citizens' sense of security and contributing to a clean, safe city - these are the core objectives of the Municipal Public Order Service. It has also taken over the tasks that previously fell under traffic monitoring.
The Municipal Public Order Service is not primarily an institution for the prosecution of misdemeanors and criminal offenses. Its main task is to spread a sense of security through its presence and, in the case of detected violations of the law, to first take preventive action and provide information. In the case of gross or repeated violations, however, warnings or charges may be brought. In this way, emerging undesirable developments in the public sphere are to be recognized at an early stage and countered consistently from the outset. The public order staff carry a badge and wear uniform uniforms with the inscription "Ordnungsdienst Stadt Hof".

FAQ around the topic of parking
What do I do if the "parking ticket" is stuck on the windshield wiper?
All the important information is printed on the parking ticket. It states what exactly is being charged and what you have to pay. The amount of the warning fine is based on the fine catalog and is not at the discretion of the city of Hof or even the employee on site. In the fine catalog of the Bavarian police you can see the regulations in detail. If you agree with the warning, you can transfer the warning amount to the specified account. If no payment is made after the warning, you will receive a written warning (hearing of the person concerned). You have the opportunity to comment on the accusation or to name a responsible driver if you did not drive the vehicle yourself. You can pay the fine with the enclosed remittance slip. Should you respond to the charge, a decision will be made on whether to discontinue the proceedings or to pursue them further, taking into account the information you have provided.
If you have any queries, the staff of the public order service will of course be happy to help and advise you.
What do I do if the warning has disappeared?
If the windshield warning should ever get lost, you don't actually need to do anything. After approx. 14 days, the vehicle owner will automatically receive a written warning (hearing of the person concerned). No further costs will be incurred here. However, you are also welcome to ask your questions at the police station, stating the license plate number.
What do I do if the parking ticket machine is defective?
Technical faults in the machine can be recognized by a flashing red light. Then it is also not possible to insert money. If there are several machines in a street or parking lot, you may use another one. If this is not possible, please be sure to put out a correctly set parking disc. You may now park for free, but only for the maximum parking time indicated on the machine. Incidentally, you can find out whether a parking disc should be laid out or another machine should be used by pressing the green button on the defective parking ticket machine.
