Geopath Theresienstein
An adventurous walk into distant times
Who hasn't dreamed as a child of traveling back in time with a time machine to climb fire-breathing volcanoes, experience earthquakes and search for hidden treasures in the mountains? Nothing could be easier! In the middle of the Hof Theresienstein you can (completely safely) embark on a journey into our adventurous past.
On the hike along the Hofer Geopath (approx. 6 km), the most important types of rock in the Bürgerpark Theresienstein and in the region are presented. Cat's eyes, a coveted semi-precious stone, were found in the diabase quarry at the Labyrinth. Marble was found at Eichelberg and clay at Lettenbachsee.
But what are the Fürstenstein, Forellenstein & Co. all about? What was the earthquake house used for? And why were fortune hunters on the move in Hof?
