2nd handmade days on May 4 and 5, 2024 in Hof

On May 4 and 5, 2024, the city center of Hof will become a meeting place for lovers of handmade art and culinary delights. The 2nd handmade days, a cooperation project between the cities of Jena and Hof and various players from the regions of Upper Franconia and Jena-Saale-Unstrut, will take place this year with the kind support of the Hofer Land and the Hospitalstiftung in Hof.

This year, the event not only marks an intensive collaboration between the two cities of Hof and Jena, which are located on the Saale Cycle Path, but also serves as a platform to make the rich variety of artisan businesses along the Saale accessible to a wide audience.

Craftspeople, artists, associations and other players from the regions present their unique work at numerous stands under the motto "handmade". The range of exhibitors extends from food processing with local breweries or winegrowers from the Saale-Unstrut region to pottery and porcelain, textiles and plant cultivation.

For all food lovers, Ludwigstraße offers a variety of delicacies, including wine and beer products, ice cream, game specialties, waffles, baked goods, fish and potato delicacies and much more, all lovingly made by hand

For fans of arts and crafts, the event offers a wide range of creative products, from wood and leather goods to forged items, birdhouses and stuffed animals.

One of this year's highlights is the tourism mile around the town hall, where towns, leisure parks and other tourism providers present themselves. The Hofer Land region, the DB-Regio cycle bus and the Upper Franconia shuttle model region project will also be there. Those interested can also take part in a free guided tour of the city of Hof.

The Holzmarkt, organized by the Hof Hospital Foundation, can be found in the old town. There will be various activities related to wood and forests: forestry machines to see and touch, chainsaw artists with demonstrations and sales, a laser shooting stand and a children's carousel.

The existing restaurants and Hofer traders are also looking forward to welcoming many visitors from near and far. A colorful stage program with musical contributions from Jena and Hof round off the program on both days. Tourism experts, princesses and queens from a wide variety of sectors complete the program.

In the beer garden in Karlstraße there is the opportunity to linger and listen to the stage program:

Sunday 12:00 - 13:30 2Bfolkish! 14:00 - 15:30 Maximilian Adler 16:00 - 17:30 Voice2Voice

The event will be officially opened by Mayor Eva Döhla and representatives from Jena on Saturday at 11:00 am. The presentation of the queens and princesses will take place at 11:30 a.m., followed by a tour.

Opening hours of the event are on Saturday, May 4, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sunday, May 5, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Handmade Days alternate annually between Hof and Jena, so the event will be held in Jena again in 2025.
