What's going on in the city center of Hof?

Background

City centers in particular will undergo major changes in the coming years, as the challenges here are great: retail stores are facing strong competition from the internet and vacant spaces are emerging. In the face of climate change, cities are becoming increasingly hot and the need for green spaces, shady areas and cooling facilities is growing. People's mobility is changing and public transport is to be strengthened. City centers are increasingly serving as places to stay and meet, but living in the city center should also become more attractive again in the future. In addition, many different stakeholders are involved in the city center, some of whom have different needs and interests. These need to be included, coordinated and discussed. Thus, urban development changes are always accompanied by numerous coordination processes and organizational tasks.

Many projects thanks to funding

Following a successful application, the city of Hof has managed to generate funds from several funding pots at state and federal level. A total of around 3 million euros in funding from the Bavarian program "Inner Cities Revitalize", the federal program "Sustainable Inner Cities and Centres" and the European program "React" were brought to Hof. This money enables various development projects and measures.

"In summary, the city of Hof is investing in very different measures to keep the city center attractive and lively. There are structural, but also coordinating and organizing projects, there is vacancy management, investments are being made in a feasibility study and also in smaller things that bring atmosphere and flair to the city. Such as the Christmas angels during the Advent season. Incidentally, more angels are to be purchased here. Which is also possible thanks to funding and supporters"
