Exhibition "Energy-efficient and sustainable - exemplary buildings in Bavaria"

Touring exhibition "Exemplary buildings" at the VHS Hofer Land

The Bavarian Chamber of Architects presents its traveling exhibition "Exemplary Buildings" at the VHS Hofer Land with the kind support of the Hofer Land and the Bund Deutscher Baumeister, Architekten und Ingenieure, BDB-Bezirksgruppe Hof.

The exhibition opening will take place on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at 6:30 pm at the VHS Hofer Land. The exhibition can be visited until May 17, 2024 during the regular opening hours of the VHS.

The exhibition "BEISPIELHAFTE BAUTEN Energieeffizienz" Sustainable architecture, energy efficiency, ecology and economy can be combined with social and cultural aspects as well as good design - this is demonstrated by the extensive collection of energy-efficient BEISPIELHAFTER BAUTEN in Bavaria, presented by the Bavarian Chamber of Architects. This collection has been compiled, published and continuously updated since 2009 with the support of the Bavarian State Ministry of Housing, Building and Transport. The buildings on display are intended to motivate people to consider energy efficiency and sustainability in every project.

Exhibition concept The Advisory Center for Energy Efficiency and Sustainability (BEN) of the Bavarian Chamber of Architects presents 44 selected EXAMPLE BUILDINGS from all administrative districts of Bavaria in the exhibition. The diverse projects are presented on 22 posters with photos, plans, graphics and relevant project information on use, energy efficiency, building envelope and choice of materials. The aim is to show what future-oriented architecture looks like and to encourage people to implement it themselves.

Sustainability in the presentation BEN stands for sustainability and a holistic approach, which is also reflected in the touring exhibition. In addition to the robustness and transportability of the materials, it is important that the materials used are produced in a resource-saving manner and that their reuse is consistently considered. The tubular steel frames have been used by the Bavarian Chamber of Architects for exhibitions throughout Bavaria since the 1970s. The system is easy to transport, add to and set up and dismantle. Every year, the traveling exhibition is expanded to include current projects from the architectural tours and older projects are removed. A tarpaulin made of 100% recycled material is used for the exhibition posters. The discarded posters are recycled into new products. The BEN-BAGS (design: Zero Waste Studio Zurück) will create a regionally produced second life for the exhibition posters.
